College Students Giving Back: Educational Programs for Middle School & High School Students

August 06, 2018

Did you know that colleges offer exciting programs for high school students year round?

Ever feel like you can’t avoid this question throughout high school: “What college do you want to go to?” You’re not alone. While some may already have an idea of where they want to go, majority don’t even really know where to begin. That’s okay! You have high school to discover what you’re interested in studying, and what colleges you should be applying to. In fact, a great way to learn more is to visit college campuses through the Learning Unlimited’s Splash Program.

Founded in 2007, Learning Unlimited was started by a group of alumni who had all attended Splash at MIT and wanted to make educational opportunities like such more readily available. They started with the hope of creating more learning opportunities for middle and high school students, and to give college students more leadership and teaching opportunities.

Learning Unlimited offers different programs all year round with different focus and program length. Splash, for example, is a one day low cost learning opportunity for middle school and high school students. Students can register online to take classes taught by current college students, which is a great opportunity for you to ask them questions about what they are studying and what they like about their school. By being on campus, you’ll also get a sense of what the university offers.

Sound interesting? Here are the current programs offered at 20 different universities around the country.
