Reaching a goal
I first realized I wanted to be a teacher when I was volunteering my time to coaching youth cheerleading. I found enjoyment in helping children learn new things. I decided then that I would set a goal for myself to become an Elementary school teacher. That day is when I decided I would find a good college, prioritize my time better, and put my educations first. This is the first part of my previous essay. I think it's a good...

Most schools want your essay to be simple (not too wordy). 5 paragraphs (give it structure and a good flow). Also remember they care about content AND they way its written. Do not forget to check spelling, grammar, transitions, AUDIENCE, and sentence structure. If your audience is the school faculty...which it usually is, so remember they are professional grown ups that want professional grown ups at their school, NO SLANG!

What I’d change about my application process
316 Words
At Polk State College you are pretty much on your own in the admissions process. Id say to do this: 1. Fill out a free Fasfa online. 2. Take the ACT and SAT (have scores sent for free to Polk State College. 3. Apply to Polk State College online. 4. Take the schools orientation online. 5. Go to Polk state and show your and possibly your guardians proof of state residency for tuition purposes (do this in admissions). 6. While in the admission sign in the computer screen on the left hand side to speak to a counselor. 7. The counselor will suggest what classes you should...

What I now know about my school that I never would have known prior to enrolling
391 Words
WGU is a completely online school. It is totally real! At first I wasn't so sure, but I dug super deep into it. Now I'm a junior working towards my BA. So the scoop is you do not receive credit hours, instead they use CU's. You have to complete so many CU's, to receive a degree. For my BA for example I transferred with 41 CU's and I need a total of 122 CU's to get my BA degree. So a CU is a competency. Here you don't do multiple assignments and test. To complete a "class" you will only have to...

What might make for a good “Why Us” essay topic at my school

Here are the good things I can tell you about each school. Hopefully this gives you some understanding of the schools, and help if you are asked any questions or asked to provide short essays for either school. Polk State College- The TLCC provided unlimited tutoring available to all students (included in your tuition). You have flexibility in schedule. Polk has hybrid classes( one day in person and one day online) completely...
