Generally, most colleges require two teacher recommendations. I’ve heard that it’s best to have one recommendation from a humanities teacher and another from a science or math teacher. This will also allow you to show colleges that you are a well rounded student by having teachers in two different areas who can attest to your skills in their subject. However, I know several friends who had two recommendations from an English and History teachers and other peers who received recommendations from a Science and Math teacher and have still been accepted into fantastic universities.
